World Oceans Day

Friday, June 8

The Chicago Zoological Society is proud to join with hundreds of other educational institutions, conservation organizations, and thousands of individuals in dozens of countries all over the world in celebrating World Oceans Day. Join us for the festivities!

Be an ocean conservationist and work “in the field” at Hamill Family Play Zoo*. Stay busy in our workshop making sea jellies, trying your hand at fish printing, and exploring the sand as you build castles in our play yard. There will be numerous activities, stories, and games, all centering on our great oceans.

Stick around for more fun! March in one of our “World Oceans Day Parades.” We will be starting at Hamill Family Play Zoo* at 11:00 a.m. and again at 4:00 p.m.

Top off World Oceans Day by attending one of our exciting dolphin shows at Seven Seas* and by touching the rays at Stingray Bay*.  Through all these experiences, you are sure to discover the ocean's wide array of wonders and resources as you consider ways to help in ocean conservation.
