Hands on Experience in Zoo Veterinary Technology!

The Chicago Zoological Society offers a limited number of externships at our Animal Hospital for students currently enrolled in the Veterinary Medical Technology programs at Joliet Junior College and the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College.

Requirements for Participation
Interested students must:
  • Be referred to CZS by staff from the Veterinary Medical Technology Training Programs at either Joliet Junior College or the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College.
  • Hold a minimum cumulative gpa of 2.5
  • Provided proof of current tetanus immunization (within 10 years) and negative TB test (within 1 year) if offered position. All expenses are at the cost of the intern.
  • Submit to a complete background check if offered position.
