Vet Tech Externships
Hands on Experience in Zoo Veterinary Technology!
The Chicago Zoological Society offers a limited number of externships at our Animal Hospital for students currently enrolled in the Veterinary Medical Technology programs at Joliet Junior College and the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College.
Requirements for Participation
Interested students must:
- Be referred to CZS by staff from the Veterinary Medical Technology Training Programs at either Joliet Junior College or the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College.
- Hold a minimum cumulative gpa of 2.5
- Provide proof of current tetanus immunization (within 10 years) and negative TB test (within 1 year) if offered position. All expenses are at the cost of the intern.
- Submit to a complete background check if offered position.
Application Details
Interested students must complete and submit a full CELO application packet as is noted here. This includes the online application, resume, cover letter, two letters of recommendation from professional references and an unofficial transcript. Individual programs may require other application steps. Please check with your program coordinator for details.
