IMPORTANT CAMP INFORMATION

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the following information. This will help ensure the best possible experience for you and your child.

On the First Day of Camp you are required to bring:
  • Confirmation Letter (sent to you online and via email at the conclusion of the registration process)
  • Completed required Medical Waiver Form
  • Early/Extended Day Confirmation (if applicable)

Directions

  • * Please enter the zoo at the South Gate near Riverside-Brookfield High School, off of Ridgewood Road. Tell the gate attendant that you are here for zoo camp and show them your confirmation letter. You do not need to pay for parking or admission. Once past the first gate, turn right, and you will come to the second gate. Again tell the attendant you are here for camp and show your confirmation letter.
  • Follow the road to the Discovery Center parking lot. Please note the speed limit is 10MPH and police enforced. Park in any designated parking space. DO NOT park in the yellow lined area next to the building or you will be ticketed.
  • Please note traffic to the zoo can be very busy, especially during pick up time. Please allow plenty of time to get to the Discovery Center.

What your camper should wear

      • On the first day of camp, all participants will receive one Zoo Camp shirt.  Additional shirts can be purchased on line as well as on the first day of camp. Please have the Zoo Camper wear this shirt every day. 
      • Avoid sending Zoo Campers in their nicest clothes.  They should instead wear clothes that can get wet and dirty.  We also ask only old sneakers, keens, or boots are worn as there is often lot of outdoor actives and walking.  Please take into consideration the weather forecast and dress your Zoo Camper appropriately.
      • We strive to provide a caring and respectful Zoo Camp experience, so we all clothing be respectful and of appropriate length.  Final authority on all attire appropriateness lies with the camp administration.

    What to bring to camp each day:
  • For full-day campers, a lunch, preferably in an insulated container. We host lunch on the last day.
  • Water Bottle (optional, please label)
  • Hat or Visor (optional, please label)
  • On rainy days, a poncho or raincoat (umbrellas are discouraged)
  • Other Important Notes:
  • Campers must be signed in and out each day. Please make sure that all individuals authorized to pick up your camper(s) are listed on their medical waiver forms.
  • If you arrive late to camp, please come to the Discovery Center. We will match your camper up with his/her group.
  • If your camper has food allergies we can provide you with the ingredients list for foods served at snack time.
  • Campers are not permitted to purchase any items from the zoo concession stands or gift shops during camp sessions. Please do not send money to camp with your child. You may make any purchases after you pick up your camper.
  • In case of severe weather, Brookfield Zoo camp follows the zoo’s Severe Weather Plan at all times. Camp will not be cancelled sue to rain, thunderstorms or heat. Alternative indoor activities will be planned for these days.

Cancellation/Refund/Camp Change Policy
  • Zoo Camp registration fees (not including the $50.00 non-refundable deposit) can be refunded if cancellations are made at least 14 days prior to the start of the session.  If a late cancellation is due to a medical emergency, a written, physician-authorized note is required before a full refund can be issued.
  • To register for a new date, please register your child for the correct date and send an email to adventures in learning requesting a cancelation and refund for the original registration. You may also change your registration date over the phone for a $10 service fee for each participant that is rescheduled. This fee will be due the first day of camp.
  • Zoo Camp participants that do not show up for their registered session will not be granted a refund.  If participants leave early on one or more Zoo Camp days, they will not receive a refund. 
  • We do not offer credits or rain checks on any canceled programs. Also, any program at Brookfield Zoo may be cancelled at the last minute for animal welfare, dangerous weather, staff needs or insufficient registration.
  • To receive a refund, send an email to adventuresinlearning@czs.org include the name of the program, your order ID, date of the order and name on the credit card.
  • To reschedule another date from your original program, please register for a new date and send an e-mail to adventuresinlearning@czs.org include the name of the program, your order ID, date of the order and name on the credit card.
  • If you reschedule to another date/week, you will not lose you your original deposit.
