Animals Keeping Cool at Brookfield Zoo
Brookfield, Ill.—Today, with temperatures once again heading into the 90s, the Animal Programs staff at Brookfield Zoo helped the animals keep cool. Thanks to a generous donation by Lang Ice, the sloth bears (Hani and her two 6-month-old cubs), polar bears (Hudson, Aussie, and Anana), and grizzly bears (Jim and Axhi) received blocks of ice, topped with some the animals’ favorite treats—corn syrup, fruits, and vegetables. Additionally, keepers made smaller blocks of ice with beef bones for the lions (Isis and Zenda).
