He is assisted by Michael O’Neill, senior keeper/Veterinary Services. The bird, along with four other pelicans, was rescued from the Gulf Coast oil spill. They arrived at Brookfield Zoo on July 18, and following a 30-day quarantine period, they will be placed on permanent exhibit at the zoo’s Formal Pool.

Golden-Lion-Tamarin-1: Diabo, a male golden lion tamarin, can be seen outdoors at Brookfield Zoo. Delilah, and her mate, Diabo, are radio collared with transmitters so Animal Programs staff can monitor them in the event they wander too far away from their nestbox.

This was the first time Franciscana dolphins had ever been tagged and tracked, and provided the first evidence of local residency by this species.

Ginger, a well-known dolphin was found stranded on the north end of Siesta Beach, Florida. After two months of rehabilitation, she was released back into the wild with freezebrand and small VHF radio transmitter that was used to track her for two months.
