With more than 2,000 animals, Brookfield Zoo is a photographer’s paradise. So grab your camera, take your best shot, and enter the Chicago Zoological Society’s 2013 Photo Contest.

HOW TO ENTER
  • Photo must feature animal(s). (Photos with people will not be accepted.)
  • Photo must be an 8"x10" print in color or black and white.
  • A photo contest entry form must be completed and taped to the back of photo.
  • One entry per person.
  • Photo must not be framed or matted.
  • Send your entry to: Photo Contest, Brookfield Zoo, 3300 Golf Road, Brookfield, IL 60513. Photos may also be dropped off at the zoo's South Gate Reception.
  • All entries must be received by Monday, October 14, 2013.
  • The Chicago Zoological Society is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, damaged, incomplete, misdirected, or postage-due for mailed entries.
  • All entries become the property of the Chicago Zoological Society and will not be returned.
  • Taxes on prizes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner.

JUDGING
One grand prize winner will be selected from all entries. In addition, photos will be judged in two age categories:
  • Adult (12 and older)
  • Child (11 and under)
A 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will be selected in each category. Contest winners will be notified by phone on or around October 17, 2013. A panel of photography professionals will judge the entries on originality, nature of the subject matter, and clarity. No purchase is necessary. Void where prohibited.


PRIZES & RECOGNITION
An awards reception will be held for photo contest winners at Brookfield Zoo on Saturday, November 9, 2013.

Winning photos will be displayed at Brookfield Zoo at least through December 2013. The grand prize winner and his/her photo will be published in Gateways, the Chicago Zoological Society's member publication. All winners and their photos will be posted on the zoo's web site, www.czs.org/photocontest. In addition, photos of winners will be sent to their local newspapers for possible publication.

Grand Prize
An airline voucher for round-trip main cabin air transportation for the winner and a companion to any destination within the contiguous 48 states (excluding Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, and Mexico served directly by American Airlines. Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $1,500. Additional terms apply.

Adult Category Prizes
1st Place - Wild Encounters: Flippered Fins (ARV: $350)
2nd Place - Wild Encounters: Poolside with Penguins (ARV: $250)
3rd Place - Brookfield Zoo Family Plus Membership (ARV: $115)

Child Category Prizes
1st Place - $100 Brookfield Zoo gift certificate (ARV: $100)
2nd Place - $75 Brookfield Zoo gift certificate (ARV: $75)
3rd Place - $50 Brookfield Zoo gift certificate (ARV: $50)

Prizes courtesy of American Airlines and the Chicago Zoological Society. Winning photos will be matted by House of Color, Countryside, IL. All gift certificates expire one year from date of issue.
