See the Lights. Feel the Magic. Continue the Tradition.
4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Holiday Magic is free with zoo membership.
Chicagoland’s largest lights festival surrounds you in the cheer of over 1,000,000 twinkling LED lights, ice carving, light shows, Santa and Mrs. Claus. You’re sure to feel the magic of the holidays!
Many of our indoor exhibits will be open for viewing favorite animals, plus there will be Singing to the Animals and special Zoo Chats. In addition, the zoo restaurants and food stands will be open with full menus and holiday treats, and gift shops will have hundreds of unique items for those hard-to-shop-for loved ones.
Enjoy a full schedule
of nightly music and live entertainment inside the Pavilions. Also on the schedule, an amazing magic show, costumed characters, a model railroad display, and the 38 foot Talking Tree.
Warm Up Chicago - Hats & Gloves Drive
Last winter was Chicago’s coldest four-month period on record, and we’re already bracing for the next. With the city’s underserved most vulnerable to winter’s cold, our Holiday Magic co-sponsor ComEd is teaming up with Chicago Cares, the city’s leading volunteer service organization, with “Warm Up Chicago.” Warm Up Chicago is the only city-wide drive to collect some of the most critical cold-weather clothing—hats and gloves. Bring your donation to Brookfield Zoo on evenings when the ComEd team is onsite and help Chicago Cares deliver items to thousands of Chicago’s seniors, adults and children before the holidays.
What: The Warm Up Chicago Drive will benefit people of all ages, so feel free to bring hats and gloves in any size. We just ask that all items are new!
When: Donate December 6, 13, 20 and 27th
Don't forget to stop by Oakbrook Center to visit Brookfield Zoo's antique sleigh and polar bear display. They're all decorated for the season and make the perfect backdrop for a great holiday photo!
