This unique exhibit spans several continents and makes visitors aware of the many facets associated with the survival of a delicate ecosystem.

The Fragile Kingdom comprises two multi-species exhibits: The Fragile Desert and The Fragile Rain Forest. Each offers interns an opportunity to work with a wide variety of species, including small cats, reptiles, invertebrates, otters, bats, naked mole rats, and many others.

Interns are exposed to diet preparation, exhibit maintenance, natural history, behavioral enrichment, training, record keeping, animal observation, and interactions with the public. As part of their Fragile Kingdom experience, interns are required to do a short research project relating to any aspect of animal husbandry that interests them.
