Getting an up-close look at animals can be the best part of a zoo visit! Children’s Zoo has long been a favorite of zoo visitors of all ages. A visit to the farm-like surroundings offers a great chance to see and touch many different animals.

There are cows, chicks, goats, llamas, and sheep, of course. But Children’s Zoo is also home to several raptors (hunting birds) as well as snakes, an eagle, a bobcat, groundhogs, and reindeer! In the summer, enjoy the outdoor “Animals in Action” presentation---you might see a horse or even a pig show off some outstanding skills.

Several times a day, many of these animals come out of their pens and into the hands of keepers. Children can be as curious as they want to be about the animals that fascinate them. And of course, they can ask lots of questions! That’s what the Children’s Zoo is all about.
