At The Fragile Kingdom you will discover three very different areas, with an array of animals very familiar…and very unusual. Look in the trees, on the ground, in the shadows. You will find animals that are able to survive in these amazing ecosystems.

The first stop is The Fragile Desert, where you’ll be transported to the deserts of North Africa. Think nothing can live here? Think again. You will
be greeted by the chatter of meerkats, standing tall while surveying their domain. Nearby, crested porcupines rustle their quills and an assortment of desert dogs sniff at the air. Rock hyraxes, sand cats, and caracals blend smoothly with their sandy surroundings.

Then stroll past the outdoor yards, also known as The Fragile Hunters. An African lion lounges on the rocks, just inches away from the gasps of visitors. His roar can often be heard resounding in the afternoon sun. Tigers prowl and splash in their stream, perhaps following a scent trail. The shaggy brown sloth bear blends in with the shade, while Amur leopards and snow leopards perch gracefully overhead.

Inside The Fragile Rain Forest, you’ll be transported to an Asian rain forest, complete with sights, sounds, and smells. Binturongs crawl through the trees---this is an animal unlike any you’ve ever seen! Otters scurry along the stream banks, and tiny squirrels run over head. Clouded leopards and fishing cats peer out from the shadows. And bats, insects, and plants add to the scenery.

Enjoy your immersion into these fragile ecosystems…as complex as they are beautiful!
