Anthony Ray is the Vice President of People & Culture, overseeing the People & Culture department and DEAI Policy Subcommittee. A strategic HR partner, contract administrator, and executive leader, Ray supports a high performing, thriving, and inclusive culture at Brookfield Zoo Chicago. With a love for mission-driven organizations, Ray joined the Zoo in 2024. Ray brings 12 years of executive-level HR experience from his previous roles, where he was responsible for new and strategic human resources initiatives in a variety of industries such as academia and healthcare. Ray is also currently a 2025 Juris Doctor Candidate at University of Illinois Chicago's School of Law. He has a master's degree in human resources management from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School of Management. Ray is passionate about the care and protection of animals in their natural habitat. A bird person, his favorite animal at the Zoo is the eagle, with the condor as a close second.
